Getting where you need to go shouldn’t be stressful. You’ve earned safe, reliable rides on our buses and paratransit vehicles. Senior Connections is here to help residents stay mobile—whether it’s a trip to the doctor, the grocery store or to visit friends at Senior Connections HQ in Belvidere. We offer:

• Door-to-door service within Boone County
• Connections to RMTD at the East Side Transfer Center across State Street from Hard Rock Casino
• Direct rides to Rockford medical appointments for those 60+ or certified Paratransit riders
• Driver assistance with bags and groceries for seniors and those with disabilities

Fares

• Adults (12–59): $2.00
• Children (under 12): $1.00
• Adults 60+: Donations appreciated but not necessary

How To Pay Your Fare

Pay on the day of your ride with exact fare or a ticket. Drivers do not have change. Purchase tickets in advance at the Boone County Council on Aging, located at the Keen Age Center, 2141 Henry Luckow Ln, Belvidere. Choose a single ticket or a 20-Ride punch card and get one extra ride free. Tickets also make great gifts.

Medical Escort Service 


For out-of-county appointments, a trained escort will drive you, wait during your appointment and bring you home. Fare: $1/mile. Please call 815.975.9059 to schedule one week in advance to reserve your Medical Escort ride.

Days of Operation

Transportation is available Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Saturday service available from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Alert: Transportation is closed Friday, July 3, 2026 and open Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Transportation is CLOSED when Senior Connections is closed due to inclement weather and on the following holidays: 

• New Year’s Day
• Good Friday
• Memorial Day
• Fourth of July
• Labor Day
• Veteran’s Day
• Thanksgiving
• Thanksgiving Friday
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
