Resources
There are plenty of wonderful resources available to help seniors, from local community resources to online services, all designed to make life a little easier and more enjoyable!
Lending Closet

The Lending Closet offers a variety of canes, walkers, commodes, shower benches/chairs, wheelchairs, and transfer chairs for free loan. We gladly accept donations of gently used, clean, and well-maintained items to share with others in need. Supplies are available for as long as you need them, at no cost. For donations or to discuss your needs, please call 815-544-9893.
Friendly Call Program

The World Health Organization highlights that social isolation and loneliness are often overlooked but important factors affecting the health of older adults. Our Friendly Call program is here to help by offering free phone calls as often as you’d like, helping you stay connected, build new friendships, and reduce feelings of loneliness. If you’d like to receive calls or want to volunteer, give us a call at 779-552-7258!
Senior Connections
Center

The Senior Connections Center is a welcoming place to belong, volunteer, and enjoy a meal. Our programs and activities are open to all older adults in Boone County! Whether you’re looking to try something new or challenge yourself, we have plenty of options and are always open to your ideas. Contact us for more info or to sign up.
Volunteers of all ages are essential, helping with classes, events, office tasks, and more. Learn about our volunteer opportunities and how you can make a difference.
